Brutal and Morbid-Looking Hunt the Night Revealed
During the Guerilla Collective’s second showcase we got a look at the morbid and brutal-looking Hunt the Night, a retro stylized action-adventure game that looks to perfectly capture the disturbing art style of a horror game mixed with the fun fluid combat of games like Bloodborne or Morbid: The Seven Acolytes. During the gameplay showcase, Hunt the Night showed off its customization options in not only armor but weapon abilities like higher critical damage, poison, and the ability to steal life from enemies, as well as some characters and monsters that players will be tasked to take down as a member of the Stalkers. The presentation also highlighted the ability to go on Hunts to raise stats, the promise of challenging bosses with multiple phases, an adaptive and immersive soundtrack being collaborated on with a legend in the JRPG scene, Hiroki Kikuta, who has previously worked on titles such as Secret Oo Mana, Soul Calibur V , and Indivisible.
The retro-inspired visuals on display were not only incredible but grotesque with varied and horrific monster designs. The game’s environments are seemingly out of nightmares, hitting high points such as a dreary-looking cathedral, devastated floating cities, and dangerous-looking dungeons filled to the brim with traps, puzzles, and what looks like absolutely terrifying monsters.
Being developed by Moonlight Games, Hunt the Night is their first game, one that is being published by Dangen Entertainment who has published titles like CrossCode, Iconoclasts, and Bug Fables. Hunt the Night looks promising and we cant wait to get a solid release date and sink our teeth into a bloody and difficult world. Do be sure to head over to the Hunt the Night Steam page and add it to your wishlist.
Hunt the Night is currently slated for PC release with other consoles set as TBA for the moment with an unknown release date.
Available now on Steam, Life Eater is a horror game revolving around abduction for ritual sacrifice to halt the end of the world. The game is the latest from Strange Scaffold, the team behind El Paso Elsewhere.
