Yet Another Fantasy Title Coming To PC
No, you did not read the title incorrectly. Atomic Wolf Studio, with the help of publisher Games Operators, announced their parody game aptly named Yet Another Fantasy Title for Steam. Playing off of popular tropes in fantasy fiction films and games, YAFT puts the player in the medieval shoes of an outlaw embarking on an epic quest. However, this character is no hero, as they begin by slaying the would-be protagonist of this story and stealing their loot. From there, players will go out into the world, looking to slay a dragon, acquire a ring, and save a kingdom.
YAFT is a top-down action RPG offering melee combat and spell-casting abilities. Players will be taking on many side quests and activities in addition to their main journey, and the game promises to let players proceed at their own pace. Progression of the world is achieved either on foot or on the backs of a collection of mounts the player can acquire, including a unicorn. YAFT brings over a dozen different weapons and spells for the player to create their own play style. Finally, the game promises plenty of pop culture and fantasy references, which should provide a great deal of levity to this fantasy-themed game.
Atomic Wolf is an indie game development studio located in Warsaw, Poland. Their most recent title released was the 2020 cyberpunk-themed action adventure game Liberated, which garnered positive reviews on Steam and Open Critic. Check out Liberated on Steam here. The publisher, Games Operators, has helped release several titles including 911 Operator, Rustler, and Radio Commander.
Though no release date is announced as of yet, players can wishlist YAFT here. Also, for more information on Atomic Wolf, be sure to check out their website for upcoming projects as well as on Twitter for news and updates.
